October 28, 2013

As announced our Christmas Concert has been changed to December 17.  We attempted to book Nelson McIntyre for the concert as last year we were unable to accommodate all the parents and friends of our students at one time.  Unfortunately we were not able to procure Nelson McIntyre, as a result our search for a suitable site led us to The Caboto Centre on Wilkes. Therefore our Christmas Concert will take place December 17 at the Caboto Centre beginning at 6:30 pm.

Thank you for supporting our Cookie Sale and Hot Dog Lunch.  We raised  $273.33 which will go towards the rental cost of the site for our Christmas Concert.  A big thank you to my cookie bakers: Mrs. Madden, Mrs. Kolmel and Mrs. Van Dale.  An extra big thank you to Mrs. Bisset who came in and helped out with our hot dog day.  Many hands make light work.

Mr. Wozney has begun volleyball club which took  place Monday and Wednesday until the end of running club.  Beginning November 4 practises will take place on Tuesdays for Grades 6-8 and Thursdays for Grade 5.  During the month of October Mr. Wozney took advantage of the lovely weather and worked outside with a number of the classes practising track and field events for the meets they will attend in the winter.

We look forward this weekend to our Christmas Craft Sale and Coffee House, please go to the following site to book your tickets: http://www.payitsquare.com/collect-page/16806  The sale will feature vendors as well as kid’s craft sale and gently used items, the ever popular Bake Walk and of course a coffee house.  The Sale will take place from 10:30 – 3:00

Dr. Nobby Woo will be offering a Love and Logic session for parents with adolescents/ teens on November 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.   Please contact Leslie Kolmel (admissions@bsls.ca ) for further information or to register.

Our first reporting period will take place on November 19 and 20th .  The Student Led Conference form has been attached to this newsletter.  Hard copies are available in the office.

We welcome back Mrs. McCrea who will return to BSLS on Monday, November 4.
