Plans for 2019 – 2020

Next year, we will have many activities throughout the year that we have experienced in the past.  We will host an artist in the school, visit Festival du Voyageur, attend MTYP plays and host Country Week before Spring Break.  We will continue to use the “Learning without Tears” from kindergarten to grade 8, giving students the opportunity to acquire and practice printing letters and handwriting.  We will use “Learning without Tears” as a keyboarding program for our students in the school, which will also complement the curriculum for ICT with clearly laid out objectives for each grade level. “Mathletics” will continue to be purchased by the school for our grades 2-8 classes, to supplement the curriculum and which allows customization for practice at home on a computer or tablet.  “Daily Five” will continue to be the basis of set-up for our English Language Arts program.

We will look forward to the movie nights and the newly introduced “Sock Hop” on Valentine’s Day before the movie.  The Fall/Christmas Supper is scheduled for Saturday, November 9 2019. It will be held at a new venue and will reflect the wishes of the parents who responded to the survey, as it is a more relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere! The Literacy Fair with our Read-a-Thon and Book Fair will be held in May/June along with our Spring Concert.

Our Christmas Concert showcasing the students’ musical talents, will be held at the Caboto Centre on December 12, 2019, at 6:30 pm.  Our Spring Concert will be held on June 5 at 6:30 pm again demonstrating the growth and development in our students over the year. We hope to display a wonderful collection of artwork from our students as well.  The academic school year calendar is posted on our website at under parents or click here.

Next year in chapel we will investigate the surprising mission Jesus was sent to accomplish for us, and realize our place in His quest to overcome the world with grace.  We will uncover strange and secret codes that reveal who we really are in Him, and how He is still accomplishing His mission through us.  We will Become a Spy in Christ and His Secret Mission!

We are excited to have a full Parents in Partnership Executive.  As a parent, you are automatically a member of Parents in Partnership, and we would love to see you at the meetings held 5 times a year.  Please feel free to speak to any of the executive members or myself with any questions.
